Tesla Raises Cybertruck Prices by $5,000 on Two Trims

If a Cybertruck has been sitting in your shopping cart for a while, the math just changed. Tesla raised prices on two of the three Cybertruck trims available to consumers, adding $5,000 to each — a bump of roughly 7%.

According to Teslarati, the Base All-Wheel-Drive trim moved from $69,990 to $74,990, and the Premium All-Wheel-Drive configuration went from $79,990 to $84,990. The range-topping Cyberbeast was left alone at $99,990.

The New Cybertruck Price Ladder

The gap between the two AWD trims stays at $10,000, so the relative value story between them hasn't shifted — everything just moved up a notch. What did narrow is the distance between Premium AWD and the Cyberbeast, which is now $15,000 instead of $20,000. Why Raise Prices Now?

Price increases are usually a demand signal. Teslarati frames the move as Tesla telling the market there are plenty of buyers, despite ongoing questions about how well the truck is selling. It's also a notable reversal from earlier this year: when Tesla launched the Cybertruck AWD at $59,990 a few months back, the company said that price would only hold for ten days because of the flood of orders it brought in.

Some added context on the demand picture — SpaceX has been buying Cybertruck units to use as company vehicles, so not every truck leaving the line is going to a retail customer.

When it was unveiled in 2019, its most expensive trim level was $69,990. Now, the cheapest trim level is more expensive than that.

That line from Teslarati's Joey Klender sums up the long-running tension around this truck. The debate over slow Cybertruck sales tends to split into two camps: people who don't like how it looks, and people who like it fine but can't justify the price.
