Tesla Picks 36 New Supercharger Locations — Voted On by Owners

Tesla just revealed the winners of its latest Supercharger Voting round, and owners picked some genuinely interesting places to plug in. Thirty-six locations made the cut across North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific — including 16 in the United States, three in Canada, and sites spread across another 15 countries and regions.
If you haven't followed the program, it's simple: every quarter Tesla puts up a slate of proposed charging sites and lets owners vote on which ones they want built. It's a direct feedback channel telling Tesla where drivers actually need coverage, rather than where a spreadsheet says demand should be.
Who Won This Round
The European winners lean heavily toward scenic and rural gaps in the map:

One caveat worth setting expectations around: Tesla says these will become some of its next Supercharger sites, but construction timelines vary and exact addresses haven't been announced. Winning a vote is the start of the process, not a ribbon-cutting date.
Voting Is Already Open Again
Tesla reopened voting for the next round immediately after announcing the winners. Account holders get five votes per three-month cycle, with a maximum of one vote per proposed location — so you can't stack all five on your local dead zone. You can also suggest new sites for consideration in a future round, which is the move if the gap you care about isn't on the ballot yet.
This follows the previous round, where Tesla selected 37 locations including Furnace Creek, California, Study Butte, Texas, and four Canadian sites.
Superchargers as a Business, Not Just a Perk
Tesla originally built the Supercharger network to make long-distance EV travel practical — and, frankly, to sell more cars. That's changed. The network is now open to non-Tesla vehicles, and Tesla has built a separate revenue stream around it with Supercharger for Business, where a company can buy and operate Superchargers under its own branding while Tesla supplies the hardware, software, monitoring, and support. The site owner keeps the charging revenue; Tesla collects fees for managing revenue-generating sites.
The practical upshot for you: more stalls, in more places, funded by more than one type of owner.
What This Means for Your Next Road Trip
Look at the American and Canadian winners and a pattern jumps out — Naubinway, Michigan; Gold Beach, Oregon; Dalhart, Texas; Crowsnest Pass, Alberta; Tobermory, Ontario. These aren't metro infill sites. They're the two-lane, long-gap, "better arrive with buffer" corridors that owners have been routing around for years.
That's good news, but it's also a reminder that these stalls don't exist yet. Until they do, the gaps stay gaps — and the drivers most excited about a Naubinway or a Gold Beach charger are exactly the ones taking the routes where a missed charging stop is a real problem today.
A few things worth having in the trunk if you drive those corridors regularly:
- A CCS or J1772 adapter. When a Supercharger is 90 miles away, a third-party DC fast charger or a Level 2 unit at a motel becomes your plan B. Adapters are the difference between an inconvenience and a tow.
- A portable Level 1/Level 2 charging cable. Rural destinations often have a 120V or NEMA 14-50 outlet and nothing else. Slow is fine when you're sleeping.
- Roadside and safety gear. Reflective triangles, a compact air compressor and tire repair kit, and a jump pack for the 12V. Remote highways are where the small stuff turns into a long wait.
- A cold-weather routine. Crowsnest Pass, Niseko, and Ullapool aren't warm. Preconditioning the battery before a charge stop, plus a proper cabin setup, keeps your charge curve — and your range estimate — honest.
Vote for the chargers you want, then pack like they're not built yet. Both things can be true at once.
If your regular route has an obvious hole in it, this is a genuinely low-effort way to influence the map. Five votes a quarter costs you nothing, and site suggestions are open. In the meantime, the right adapter and a stocked trunk keep the miles between stalls a lot less stressful.
