Tesla FSD V14.1 Lite Arrives for HW3 in Update 2026.21.6

Tesla started pushing update 2026.21.6 on August 9, 2026, and it is a notable one for older cars: it carries FSD (Supervised) v14.1 Lite for HW3 vehicles, alongside FSD (Supervised) v14.3.7 for HW4 vehicles. If you have been watching HW3 fall further behind, this is the release that closes some of that gap.
Rollout is tiny so far. TeslaFi's tracker shows just 24 cars on 2026.21.6, or about 0.2% of the fleet, with 23 installs yesterday and one today. In other words, do not panic if your car has not seen it yet.
FSD v14.1 Lite: HW3 Model 3 and Model Y
The headline here is that Tesla distilled the intelligence from HW4's V14 stack down into HW3, letting the older computer learn how to handle scenarios using HW4 V14 as a guide. Per the release notes, that unlocks HW4 improvements including Reinforcement Learning and offline models for HW3 cars.
What HW3 owners get:
- Better proactive and reactive responsiveness across navigation handling, merges and forks, pedestrian interactions, traffic lights, and vehicle cut-in scenarios.
- Improved comfort in normal driving, with fewer false slowdowns, smoother steering, and more consistent lane centering.
- Parking, unparking, and reversing capabilities — new to HW3.
- Arrival Options, so you can choose where FSD should pull over or park: in a Parking Lot, on the Street, or in a Driveway.
- Speed Profiles available at all times to customize driving style.
NotaTeslaApp notes that the FSD release notes themselves are unchanged from the prior build, so 2026.21.6 likely focuses on bug fixes — reversing issues and potential overheating issues among them.
FSD v14.3.7: HW4 Model S, 3, X, Y, and Cybertruck
HW4 cars get a deep list of refinements in v14.3.7. A few that stand out:
- An upgraded Reinforcement Learning training stage and an upgraded neural network vision encoder, improving rare and low-visibility scenarios, 3D geometry understanding, and traffic sign recognition.
- The AI compiler and runtime were rewritten from the ground up with MLIR, which Tesla says delivers 20% faster reaction time.
- Less unnecessary lane biasing and minor tailgating, plus more decisive parking spot selection and maneuvering.
- Improved parking location pin prediction, now shown on the map with a P icon.
- Better response to emergency vehicles, school buses, right-of-way violators, small animals, and odd objects hanging or leaning into the vehicle path.
- Improved traffic light handling at complex intersections with compound lights, curved roads, and yellow-light stopping.
- Improved handling of temporary system degradations, maintaining control and recovering automatically to reduce unnecessary disengagements.
- More sensitive driver monitoring with better eye gaze tracking, eyewear handling, and accuracy in variable lighting.
Tesla also lists upcoming improvements: expanding reasoning to all behaviors beyond destination handling, and adding pothole avoidance.
Cybertruck finally gets Summon
Actually Smart Summon and Dumb Summon are now available for Cybertruck. On other vehicles, ASS max speed was raised to 8 mph (13 km/h) back in v14.3.3, and the model behind Actually Smart Summon, FSD, and Robotaxi is now unified for more consistent behavior.
Tesla has also folded in the intervention-reason prompt after a takeover, plus a distance-traveled counter and a longest intervention-free streak in the Self-Driving App.
What this means for your accessories
Software gets smarter, but the cabin hardware still has to keep up. Two practical notes:
- Driver monitoring got more sensitive. With better eye gaze tracking and eyewear handling, a phone mount that parks your device low and out of the camera's line of sight is a smarter choice than a windshield or A-pillar mount that crowds your face. Same goes for sunshades and dash accessories that sit near the cabin camera.
- More parking and unparking means more low-speed maneuvering. If FSD is now handling parking lots, driveways, and reversing on your HW3 Model 3 or Y, it is a good time to check that your camera lenses are clean and unobstructed, and that any aftermarket wraps, trim, or hitch accessories are not sitting in a sensor's path.
And the usual reminder: FSD (Supervised) requires an attentive driver with hands on the wheel. Keeping a charged mobile connector, a proper 12V/roadside kit, and a tire repair kit in the frunk matters just as much whether the car is steering or you are.
