Tesla Adds Cybercab to Its 3D Supercharger Site Maps

Tesla just added the Cybercab to its 3D Supercharger Site Maps, meaning the two-seat robotaxi now shows up as its own modeled vehicle when you pull up a charging location in your car. It joins the Model 3, Model Y, Model S, Model X, and Cybertruck in the lineup of vehicles Tesla renders in the 3D view.

If you haven't used Site Maps yet, they're the 3D rendering of a Supercharger location that shows the stalls, the chargers, and which spots are currently occupied. Combine that with live stall availability and vehicle-specific models, and you get a surprisingly readable picture of what you're rolling into before you get there.

What the 3D Site Maps Actually Show You

The detail level here goes further than most people expect. Tesla renders different generations of the same vehicle with unique 3D models, so you can tell exactly what kind of car is parked at each stall. There's even a generic model for non-Tesla EVs charging on the network.

That last part is more useful than it sounds. A few things the view can tell you at a glance:

  • Which stalls are open right now, before you commit to an exit
  • Whether a site is filled mostly with non-Tesla EVs, which typically charge slower and can mean longer waits
  • When an adjoining stall is marked blocked because a non-Tesla EV's charge-port position forced it across two spaces

You can also pull up the Site Map for any Supercharger without being there. Find the location on your map, then tap View Site Map. One catch worth knowing: the feature is limited to AMD Ryzen based vehicles, so older Intel-based Model 3 and Model Y builds won't see it.

Rollout Is Nearly Nationwide

Site Maps started small. The feature launched with the 2025 Holiday Update at just 18 Superchargers across California and Texas. Tesla said its Giga New York team was processing more than 300 Supercharger locations globally each week—a pace that strongly suggests parts of the workflow are automated and pulling from existing site plans or design files.

That pace paid off. Tesla has now updated most of the US, and almost every Supercharger includes a 3D Site Map.

Why Austin Is the Place to Spot One

If you want to actually see a Cybercab rendered on a Site Map, Austin is your best bet. Tesla's initial public Cybercab service in the area begins today, which puts the fleet on the ground and on the network.

The early Cybercabs have a physical charging port, so they can use conventional Superchargers while the wireless charging infrastructure gets built out. Tesla's plans for a new Austin charging hub call for 48 V4 Supercharger posts in the first phase, with equipment supporting 80 wireless chargers in the second. Until those automated systems come online, Cybercabs plug in like everyone else—which is exactly why they'll start appearing in the 3D view at shared sites.

Bottom line: this is mostly eye candy, but it's eye candy that occasionally saves you a stop. Knowing a site is packed with slower-charging non-Tesla EVs is real information.

What This Means for Your Charging Setup

Better visibility into Supercharger occupancy is genuinely handy on a road trip, but it doesn't change the fundamentals of showing up prepared. A few things worth keeping in the trunk regardless of how good the maps get:

  • A quality J1772 or CCS adapter so you aren't dependent on a single network when Superchargers are full
  • A portable Level 2 charger for hotel and destination stops where public stalls are scarce
  • An organized charging cable bag—adapters that live loose in the frunk are adapters you eventually lose
  • Roadside safety gear, since charging stops are often where you notice a low tire or a worn wiper

As Tesla's fleet diversifies—robotaxis, Cybertrucks, and non-Tesla EVs all sharing the same posts—stalls are going to feel busier in more places. Tools like Site Maps help you plan around it, and the right adapters and gear help you route around it entirely.
